Time travel shows huge change since first Irish Grand Slam

In the euphoria following Ireland’s Grand Slam last weekend, the newspapers were full of the great teams that had achieved that memorable yardstick. But it seemed there were only three if the media were to be believed. The team of 1948 appeared to be confined to the dustbin of history. It was not compared with the three successes of the 21st century, nor were any of the players mentioned as possible contenders for a combined side.
