15. SCOTT SPEDDING: Offered composure and a safe pair of hands at full-back. 6/10

14. YOANN HUGET: So elegant on the ball and broke infield to good effect. 6

13. MATHIEU BASTAREAUD: At his bulldozing best, flattening the Scots time and again. 7

12. WESLEY FOFANA: Quiet afternoon for Fofana, who failed to provide the spark. 6

11. TEDDY THOMAS: Produced a brilliant offload in the first half but France were unable to capitalise. 6

10. CAMILLE LOPEZ: Landed five penalties, but Les Blues were blunt on the front foot. 6.

9. RORY KOCKOTT: Morgan Parra brought more to the party when he arrived from the bench. 6

1. ALEXANDRE MENINI: France's front row struggled. 5

2. GUILHEM GUIRADO: Unlikely to be considered among the great French hookers. 5

3. RABAH SLIMANI: Workman-like but nothing more. Weak at the scrum. 5

4. PASCAL PAPE: A physical presence in the French engine room who huffed and puffed. 6

5. YOANN MAESTRI: Played his part as France's pack made its presence felt. 6

6. THIERRY DUSAUTOIR: Can reflect on a fine shift but knows France are struggling. 6

7. BERNARD LE ROUX: Scotland's back row were the equal of their opponents and le Roux struggled. 6

8. DAMIEN CHOULY: A giant of a man but was well managed by the brave Scots. 6

BENJAMIN KAYSER: Arrived as part of the French cavalry. 5

UINI ATONIO: Can be happy with his effort. 5

EDDY BEN AROUS: Little chance to shine. 5

ROMAIN TAOFIFENUA: Replacement lock toiled. 5

Scotland

15. STUART HOGG: The Lions full-back was a livewire throughout and dazzled at times. 7

14. TOMMY SEYMOUR: Miserable afternoon for the wing, who limped off after 16 minutes. 5

13. MARK BENNETT: Made the initial inroads that led to Scotland's opening try. Dangerous. 7

12. ALEX DUNBAR: Kept Fofana quiet, which was a victory in itself, and robust in defence. 6

11. TIM VISSER: Prominent early in the second half but was unable to break through. 6

10. FINN RUSSELL: Offered an attacking threat with the ball in hand. A classy operator. 7

9. GREIG LAIDLAW: Tidy around the breakdown and was bright throughout. 6

1. ALASDAIR DICKINSON: Forced an early penalty at the scrum that yielded three points. 6

2. ROSS FORD: Flattened by Bastareaud but was not alone in that. Set piece was good. 6

3. EUAN MURRAY: Also bounced off by Bastareaud but had the French scrum in plenty of trouble. 7

4. RICHIE GRAY: Opened his legs for one conspicuous run in the second half but otherwise quiet. 6

5. JONNY GRAY: Big reputation coming into the game which he did not quite match. 6

6. ROB HARLEY: Relentless in defence as he sought out red shirts and hacked them down. 7

7. BLAIR COWAN: A threat over the ball with one eye-catching poach that was ultimately wasted. 6

8. JOHNNIE BEATTIE: Big shift in defence from the number eight, but yellow carded at a key moment. 7

Replacements -

FRASER BROWN: Failed to change the game. 5

GORDON REID: Solid and effective. 5

GEOFF CROSS: The game was already slipping from Scotland. 5

JIM HAMILTON: Threw his weight around. 5

ALASDAIR STROKOSCH: Brought physicality to the game. 5

SAM HIDALGO-CLYNE: In the back seat. 5

PETER HORNE: Little chance to shine. 5
