One Irish player makes The Daily Telegraph's Six Nations Team of the Weekend
Ireland showed no shortage resilience in their defeat to England at the weekend and collectively it was an improvement from the one-point defeat to France a week previous.
Johnny Sexton, Conor Murray and substitute Ultan Dillane caught the eye at Twickenham, but according to The Daily Telegraph, only one of Joe Schmidt's charges was the standout player in his position over the weekend that saw wins also for Wales and Scotland.
Lock Donnacha Ryan was called into the side for Mike McCarthy and the abrasive Munster man did not disappoint in an Irish pack under huge pressure from its English counterpart.
"You could tell from Ryan's face during the anthems at Twickenham that he was ready to go into battle, and he did so with gusto. A fine all-round display and unlucky to be on the losing side," the paper commented.
The team also features five Englishmen, four Welshmen, four Scots and a solitary French representative.
