Setanta pull out stops for Leinster ties

SETANTA TV will again be providing live coverage throughout the Leinster Schools Senior Cup campaign.

In all there will be eight games televised live, beginning with the holders Blackrock College in their opening title defence against CBC Monkstown, on Wednesday, January 29.

That will be followed by live coverage of all four quarter-finals, plus the two semi-finals and of course the St Patrick's Day finale at the RDS.

Commentary will again be provided by John Forrest, with Aidan McCullen (former Castleknock College, Leinster and Toulouse back-row) alongside.

The presence of the Top 14 and Pro12 commentary team gives the schools coverage comparable respect to the professional rugby output.

And in the run-up to the first round, Setanta will be replaying some of the best finals from the last 10 years, including the 2005 Belvedere v Blackrock showdown featuring a whole host of familiar names now plying their trade at the top level.

These include Cian Healy, Luke Fitzgerald, Ian Madigan, Paul O'Donoghue, Niall Morris, Vasya Artemyev and Ian Keatley as well as the recently retired Eoin O'Malley, while MMA star Cathal Pendred makes his mark in the second-row for Belvo!

In 2013 live coverage of the Munster Schools Senior Cup final was re-introduced, and that will again form a central part of the 2014 package.
