St Munchin's beat CBC Cork 15-10 at Thomond Park this afternoon to win the Munster Schools Junior Cup for the sixth time.

Out-half Alex Wood - the son of Ireland legend Keith - scored a wonderful try midway through the second half to give his side a ten-point buffer, which ultimately proved crucial.

Darragh Long put Munchin's ahead with a penalty after nine minutes, but fullback George Coomber hit back with a try in the corner after 18 minutes to give CBC a 5-3 lead.

However, Graham Kirwan crossed for a key five-pointer to restore the Limerick school's lead right on half-time, before Wood's moment of magic made the score 15-5, after the out-half dummied before running it in from 45m.

Coomber crossed for his second try with five minutes to go, but it wasn't enough to deny Munchin's in a hotly contest final.

You can enjoy Wood's try in the video below, with the score coming at the 48-minute mark.
