O'Brien makes sure

Captain William O'Brien and wing Phillip O'Neill supplied the second-half tries that sent Newbridge College through to play CUS in the Section 'B' final.

The game followed the pattern of the original fixture, with Newbridge winning more ball and Pres having to see them off in the tackle, which they managed to do in a scoreless first-half.

Eventually, the Newbridge pressure paid off when space opened on the left and centre Ben O'Connor's quick hands gave O'Neill the room to score in the corner in the 48th minute. Out-half Peter Osbourne added the extras.

Replacement fly-half Philip Haughton replied with a Pres penalty, but any uncertainty as to the result disappeared when No 8 O'Brien went low and hard for the line, with Osbourne again kicking the extras.
