Newbridge College see off St Gerard's

Leinster Schools Junior Cup

Right wing Paddy Kyne struck for two of five second-half tries as Newbridge College saw off St Gerard's at Clondalkin RFC.

St Gerard's twice secured the lead -- first through Tommy Whittle's fifth-minute penalty, which was quickly wiped out by full-back Chris Healy's response, and then a converted try by Aaron Cafferky in the 29th minute.

The Leinster League winners immediately countered with prop Jonathan Phelan's maul-driven try, which Healy converted.

Thereafter, Newbridge changed their game plan from running everything from everywhere to a more rounded approach, which produced rich dividends.
