McNally score proves key

Cian McNally's first-half try proved critical in helping Rice College into a semi-final spot yesterday.

In bitterly cold conditions in Westport, Rice fell behind to an early penalty but fought back with McNally's try, which was converted by Dwayne Corcoran.

Corcoran added two further penalties to give the Westport school a 13-3 interval lead, the visitors narrowing the gap with a second penalty

  • England are involved in an angry tug-of-war with Stade Francais over back-row James Haskell.

Stade have demanded that the RFU allow the No 6 to play in a Top 14 match against Toulouse on Saturday.

England, though, say they are under no obligation to release Haskell during 'Elite Player Squad periods' -- a claim rejected by the Paris club, who warned: "We are ordering him to return most urgently."
