Hogan the hero as late effort sees St Munchin's into last four

A try from hooker Eimhin Hogan in the 62nd minute proved crucial as St Munchin's booked their place in the semi-finals with a win over Crescent CC at Dooradoyle.

Crescent College enjoyed a useful 10-3 interval lead, having recovered from the concession of an early penalty goal from Brian Mullins to control the opening period.

Out-half Shane O'Brien levelled matters with a sweetly struck drop goal in the 12th minute, while full-back Tom Ryan crossed for a smashing try in the 25th minute. O'Brien duly converted to give his side their seven-point advantage.

But a second Mullins penalty reduced Crescent's lead to four points, before Hogan's crucial try in the 62nd minute sealed the victory.
