Clongowes Wood College produced a super-smooth first-half to crush Cistercian College Roscrea at Donnybrook yesterday and book their place in the quarter-finals.
This is definitely an above-average edition and it wasted no time in showing why, as out-half David Wilkinson broke to find finisher George Fitzpatrick on hand for a superb try in the first minute.
Roscrea were willing, but were simply unable to mount any sort of attack.
Forced on to the back foot, they were forced to defend against a tide of possession.
The dam had to break and, when it did, the tries gushed in from powerful centre Christopher Grimes, twice, prop Michael Behan, number eight Barry Dooley and flanker Calum Dowling, their captain.
It was to Roscrea's credit that they refused to roll over even though the game was well beyond their reach.
They redoubled their efforts to block up their defence and put centres Dylan Keane and Jacob Faughnan on the ball enough times to threaten the try that never came.
