CRESCENT Comprehensive College had to draw on all of their battling qualities to see off Ard Scoil Ris in a hard-fought all-Limerick quarter-final showdown at Dooradoyle.
The game came to life after Diarmuid Dee landed a penalty for Crescent on 25 minutes.
Larry Hanley got in for a try three minutes later and Dee added the conversion to make it 10-0.
Things were looking bleak for Ard Scoil Ris, but they grabbed a lifeline before the interval when Eoin McCabe got over for a try, which was not converted.
That set the scene for an intriguing second period but, try as they did, Ard Scoil were unable to find a way back to parity and Crescent clinched victory when replacement Jack Donovan got over for his side's second try 22 minutes into the half.
