A scintillating hat-trick from Terenure College's Sam Dardis ended any hopes of The King's Hospital causing what would have been a major upset at Donnybrook.
Dardis, younger brother of Leinster academy player, Billy, is a major part 'Nure's exciting backline and after their seven-try demolition of Kings Hospital, they will fancy their chances of going far this year.
Outside centre Adam La Grue also caught the eye throughout, not least after an opening 15 minutes that he won't forget in a hurry.
After two strong carries in the build up, La Grue crossed the whitewash after just three minutes but shortly after was sent to the sin bin for tackling a player off the ball.
King's Hos quickly hit back when his opposite number Daniel Eiffe went over for the first of his two tries but a minute after returning to the pitch La Grue found a huge gap in the defence to dot down again.
Dominic Henry-Hayes converted and soon added a penalty before Eiffe responded again with a brilliant individual try. Ian West added the extras.
There was still time left in what was an absorbing first half for Dardis to be put over in the corner as Terenure led 20-12 at the break.
Luke Murnaghan extended his side's advantage when he also got in for a try but, to their credit, King's Hospital refused to lie down and were rewarded when hooker Felix Campbell burrowed his way over from close range.
The remaining 20 minutes were relentless as 'Nure found their stride. Henry-Hayes slotted over his second penalty before the real onslaught began.
Patrick Heneghan got their fifth try before Dardis stole the show as he completed his hat-trick with two more well-worked tries.
He first showed blistering pace to collect Jack Walsh's pass to screech beyond three defenders and then had the awareness to punish more slack defending as Terenure booked their place in the second round.
