RBAI celebrate winning the Ulster Schools Senior Cup Final

Belfast Inst completed a schools double at Ravenhill as tries from Lewis McNamara and Jack Conlin gave them victory over Wallace High – who also lost the provincial Junior decider last week.

There was little between the teams early on in a tight contest before Wallace took the lead with a brilliant try by Conor Guiney, but Andrew Cardosi was just wide with the conversion.

Just before the interval Inst stole a lineout and captain McNamara crashed over before TJ Morris (left) added the extras.

Wallace regained the lead with a Max Trouton try; Cardosi, who had failed with a penalty attempt, missed the conversion.

Inst responded emphatically when Jack Conlin cut through to score, with Morris again on target with the extra points.

Wallace pushed for a winning try late on, but Daniel Soper’s Inst held firm to claim the trophy.

Wallace High – P Hylands; C Guiney, A Cardosi, R Wilson, B Finlay; N Kilpatrick, J Stewart; J Blair, B Pentland, A Weir; P Ferguson, G Dillon; S Moore (c), A Irvine, M Trouton.
