Ard Scoil shock Pres

Ard Scoil Ris 15
Munster junior cup

ARD SCOIL RIS from Limerick caused a major shock when dumping out Presentation Brothers College Cork at Rosbrien yesterday.

In heavy underfoot conditions they outgunned the Cork side, whose cause was greatly hampered when their hooker Ben Murphy was sent off two minutes into the second half at a time when only a penalty separated the sides.

That penalty came after 20 minutes from splendid Ard Scoil Ris out-half Stephen Fitzgerald after Pres were punished for being offside.

Following Murphy's red card, the Limerick school took control in the second half and tries by Shane Fenton and Robbie Deegan, the first of which was converted by Fitzgerald, secured a famous victory. With 15 minutes remaining prop Patrick Lee got over for a Pres try, but it was too little too late.
