Scarlets count cost of cards

OSPREYS climbed above Leinster into fifth place in the Pro12 table after brushing 13-man Scarlets aside to win the west Wales derby 32-3 at the Liberty Stadium.

The visitors had Rob McCusker and Gareth Owen red-carded late on, and with Aled Thomas sin-binned, they finished with just 12 on the field – having earlier had two other players yellow-carded.

Ospreys scores came from a penalty try, touchdowns from James King and Kahn Fotuali'i, who also dropped a goal, and 14 points from the boot of Dan Biggar.

Earlier, teenage out-half Rhys Patchell kicked four penalties as Cardiff Blues beat Newport Gwent Dragons 12-10 in a mudbath.
