Rory Best named as Ireland captain for American tour

Ulster hooker Rory Best has been named as captain of the Ireland squad for the summer international tour

No Leinster players are included in the 25 man party, as the province is due to contest the Heineken Cup final the same day as the opening test against Canada

None of the Irish Lions players are involved either, but there's plenty of experience in ranks, provided by the likes of Peter Stringer, Mick O'Driscoll and Denis Leamy

Twelve uncapped players are also included

After the Canadian game, Declan Kidney's side face-off with Eddie O'Sullivan's USA in California on the 31st of May

Meanwhile, Connacht's John Muldoon's been named as captain of the Ireland A side for the Churchill Cup
