Rabo Direct Pro 12 Round up: Wholesale changes for Munster as Leinster names 12 internationals

MUNSTER make wholesale changes for the RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Benetton Treviso, in Thomond Park tomorrow.

In all, Tony McGahan makes 10 changes to his starting fifteen from the side he selected for the defeat by Ulster at Ravenhill. One of those changes is positional with Johnny Murphy moving from left to right wing to accommodate Simon Zebo. He was rested last time out.

Murphy takes over from Luke O'Dea, who scored Munster's opening try that night. He subsequently sustained an ankle injury.

Only five players - Denis Hurley, Lifeimi Mafi, Wian du Preez, Damien Varley and James Coughlan - retain their places.

  • LEINSTER'S Jamie Heaslip will captain his province for the clash with Cardiff Blues in tomorrow night’s match in City Stadium.

Up to a dozen Ireland internationals are named in the team for the trip to Wales.

After the recent PRO12 interprovincial wins over Ulster and Connacht at Christmas, Kevin McLaughlin partners Sean O'Brien and Heaslip in the back-row, with Cian Healy joining Sean Cronin and Mike Ross in the front row.

  • CONNACHT’S team to face Aironi tomorrow sees the return of Michael Swift and versatile prop Dylan Rogers to the side. They take their places in the pack in a bid to end a bad losing streak.

Swift recently signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2012/13 season and marks his return to the starting line-up following a two week break with a knee injury.
