Irish ruling the roost

IRELAND will impressively provide three of the four Magners League semi-finalists next weekend after the final round of regular season fixtures was completed last night, WRITES HUGH FARRELLY.

Leinster's thumping 38-3 win over Glasgow earned them home advantage and they return to the RDS next Friday (7.05) to take on Ulster who booked their last four spot with a more hard fought 20-13 victory away to the Dragons.

The following day, table-toppers Munster -- who defeated Connacht 22-6 in Limerick -- take on the fourth-placed Ospreys after the Welsh side gave themselves an opportunity to retain their title by defeating Aironi 12-10 after a tense tussle in Italy. Munster and Leinster will go into those clashes as favourites and the dream final between Ireland's top two provinces is still on the cards.

If Leinster face the Ospreys in the final on May 28, the game is likely to be staged in the Aviva Stadium with Munster having the right of home advantage if they make the final.
