Garry Ringrose will not make his first appearance of the season for Leinster at home to The Dragons in the PRO14 League at The RDS tomorrow night.

The upbeat report about how Ringrose had returned to full training for Leinster and was on the cusp of a return will not come to pass just yet.

Coach Leo Cullen and his medical staff have decided to take the more conservative course on this occasion.

The 22 year-old centre sensation has not played for his province since the League semi-final defeat to Scarlets in mid-May.

He did not suffer surgery to his shoulder until the first week in July when the estimated return was anything from 4-5 months.

Now, Ringrose is scheduled for action on Saturday week away to Benetton Treviso, almost five months to the day.

This will leave the Ireland international with just one match in which to prove to Cullen that he is ready for the first of the back-to-back Champions Cup matches against the English champions Exeter Chiefs.
