Adam Byrne is in line to return for Leinster in Edinburgh on Friday night when the PRO14 returns.

The winger hasn't played since undergoing knee surgery following his Ireland debut against Argentina in November.

Team-mates Garry Ringrose (ankle) and Sean O'Brien (hip) remain unavailable, but they remain on course to make their comebacks in the coming weeks.

Both players will still hope to play some part in Ireland's Six Nations campaign and even though Leinster were unable to put an exact time-frame on O'Brien's comeback, they confirmed that the Tullow native is on track with his recovery.

"There is no update on Seanie, he's on track," scrum coach John Fogarty explained.

"We're hoping to get him in this block (of games). He's in good form, he's on track. There is no real update on his situation. On track is a good thing.

"Again, when is he going to come back?

"I'm not sure but we are hoping to get back in this block and like you guys, we are dying to see him back. They (medics) need to just assess him more."
