A huge banner has appeared in Limerick today to honour Paul O'Connell after he ended his playing days with Munster.

The Limerick man will ply his trade in the Top 14 next year after signing for French giants Toulon.

The IRFU allowed the Ireland captain to cut short his Munster contract at the end of last season which cleared the way for his move to the three-time European Cup winners.

His dedicated service to Munster throughout his career has made him a cult hero and Limerick City and County Council has unveiled a fitting tribute for the giant lock today.
