Terenure host European Youth Rugby Festival
From Friday, May 1 (kicking off at 10.00am) to Sunday, May 3, Terenure RFC will again host the hugely popular under 13s European Youth Rugby Festival.
This is the fourth year of the competition and will involve teams from Wales, England, France, Belgium and Ireland.
The primary aim is to promote fun, enjoyment and a love of all things rugby. On the Saturday, all teams will play in a pool competition with each team going forward to a streamed knockout event featuring cup, shield and plate the following day.
The tournament began in 2012 with Canet St Marie from France the winners of the inaugural event. In 2013, the cup 'came home' in every sense of the term when the purple, black and white hosts took the title.
In 2014, it travelled to Portugal with Belenenses from Lisbon taking top spot.
