Ross fires Ulster 'A' ahead
Scarlets 13 Ulster 'A' 24
Ulster 'A' have finished top of Section 1 in the British and Irish Cup after a comfortable victory over Scarlets on Saturday.
However, they were fifth best overall so they face an away quarter-final at Bedford Blues, who had a try bonus against Nottingham to secure a home draw, along with Ealing, Leinster 'A' and Jersey.
At Llandovery, Ulster were 10 points ahead after as many minutes. Following a scrum, second row forward Clive Ross, the Man of the Match, charged over for Peter Nelson to convert. Nelson then added a penalty, but six minutes later a grubber kick led to Corey Baldwin scoring Scarlets' only try for Jacob Botica to convert.
Despite being reduced to 14, the home side levelled with a Botica penalty, but Ulster bagged a penalty try on the half-hour to go 17-10 up.
On the hour Ulster wrapped things up as captain John Andrew crossed for Nelson to convert.
