Defending champions Blackrock College will begin their quest to win the Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Senior Cup for the 70th time against Presentation College Bray.

The draw - conducted by injured Leinster warriors Jack McGrath, Nick McCarthy and Fergus McFadden - paired arch rivals Terenure and St Mary's, who are likely to kick-off proceedings at Energia Park on Sunday, January 27.

The two D6 schools will also meet in the opening round of the Junior Cup. Belvedere - foiled by Blackrock in their three-in-a-row bid - will meet 2015 Senior Cup winners Cistercian College Roscrea.

The draw presented a massive incentive to the minnows, with the finalists in the Fr Godfrey and Vinnie Murray Cup competitions drawn to play each other in the first round proper of both main tournaments.

Shadow favourites St Michael's will meet promising Kilkenny College in the opening round, while Senior League finalists Castleknock and Gonzaga will front up having completed the League final which is down for decision at Energia Park tomorrow.
