Murphy helps Ravens soar
Scarlets Prem Select 19 Ulster Ravens 27
Alex Codling's Ulster Ravens side moved up to second place in Pool 2 of the British & Irish Cup after an impressive away victory.
The visitors fought off a tough performance from bottom-placed Scarlets Premiership Select to make it two wins out of three in the competition.
Ulster front-row Ruaidhrí Murphy scored two of his team's four tries, and said: "We executed our game plan very well.
"We were just told to keep up the tempo throughout the game and it paid off."
The forward's impact on the game was telling, bursting through the line to score two tries after coming on as a substitute on 50 minutes.
Murphy added: "It's great to contribute with the tries but we played really well as a team and that hopefully puts me in contention to start next week."
Murphy's performance helped to earn his team the win but he was sure to keep his feet firmly on the ground ahead of this week's return match at Eaton Park.
He added: "Another five points is brilliant for us and it really puts us in the driving seat.
"We have really given ourselves an opportunity here and we can't let up. We have to go again.
"We are obviously confident after this result but we have to be careful because Scarlets are going to be like a wounded bull next week with nothing to lose."
