St Munchin's, the holders and favourites to repeat last year's feat, led 21-3 in the second half but Castletroy made them sweat in the closing stages after rallying impressively.

The St Munchin's forwards dominated the first half with two tries coming from the pack - Cillian O'Connor converting efforts by prop Gus Harrington and flanker Stephen Hayes for a 14-3 interval lead.

It looked all over when Ryan Nugent added another but Castletroy fought back with tries by Reece Kelly and Harry Lynch but ultimately came up short.
