Racing 92 have been hit by another blow with the news that star out-half Dan Carter will join Ronan O'Gara in leaving the Parisian club.

O'Gara is set to leave the coaching staff after Christmas for a role with the Crusaders in Super Rugby, while Carter will move on at the end of the season to join Japanese side Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers.

The legendary All Black joined the side after winning the World Cup in 2015, guiding Racing to a Top 14 title in his first season.

Carter also played a big role as the French outfit qualified for their first Champions Cup final in 2016, where they were defeated by Saracens.

Carter announced the move on social media this weekend.

"Excited to announce I’ll be joining Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers rugby team in Japan for next season. These decisions are never easy but I must thank Racing 92 for their support," he said.
