The president of Leinster Rugby Robert McDermott last week launched an exciting new initiative for clubs as Leinster Rugby seek nominations for Volunteer of the Year.

Leinster Rugby recognises the great work being undertaken by our clubs and in particular by the thousands of volunteers within those clubs. The award has been developed to give clubs an opportunity to recognise those individuals who make an exceptional contribution to their club and to their province.

Leinster Rugby is asking each club to nominate their 'Volunteer of the Year'.

This person can be anybody in your club who gives freely of their time.

The nominee can be in any role within your club, from cleaning the clubhouse to selling tickets, administration to coaching a team, etc.

All you need to do is fill out the nomination form online by 5pm on Friday, March 11 at the following link:

Please note that only one nominee can be submitted per club so it needs to be a club decision. So get talking and get nominating!

The winner will receive two complimentary tickets for the upcoming Leinster v Munster Guinness Pro12 match at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, April 2.

The list of nominees will be included in the Leinster supplement in the Irish Independent on Friday, April 1, as well as in the Leinster v Munster match programme and Leinster's social media outlets.
