Clinical Munster 'A' set sights on qualification
British & Irish cup: Ospreys Select 26 Munster 'A' 46
Munster 'A' ran in six tries to secure an impressive victory over British & Irish Cup strugglers Ospreys Premiership Select XV.
Darren Sweetnam scored a brace in a high-scoring Pool 3 affair at Brewery Field that saw the visitors close the gap on pool leaders Yorkshire Carnegie to a point.
Head coach Mick O'Driscoll said: "Overall we have to be really pleased with the result and scoring a lot of good tries. I was a little disappointed with some of our defensive effort towards the end, but we took our opportunities.
"We are in a good position right now but we've got a tough game in Yorkshire coming up and there's a tough battle between us and London Scottish to qualify. We're aiming to come out on top."
Ospreys took the lead on seven minutes through prop Marc Thomas.
But Munster found their rhythm as Shane Buckley capitalised on some weak defending before lock Kevin O'Byrne weaved his way over from 30 yards, and Sean Doyle followed for a 24-14 half-time lead.
Ospreys lost Lloyd Evans to the sin-bin after the break yet still scored next through Matthew Dwyer.
Munster hit back as Jordan Coghlan touched down and Sweetnam crossed twice late on, either side of Kristian Phillips.
