Try-scoring centre Cian Bohane says UCC have shown they deserve a Division 1A place after overcoming Old Wesley 41-19 in Saturday's All-Ireland League promotion/relegation play-off final at the Mardyke.

Retaining their top-flight status, the Cork students had a star performer in out-half James Taylor, who kicked 21 points and had two try assists, and ex-Munster back Bohane was delighted to see Brian Walsh's side push clear in the final quarter.

"I genuinely believe we garnered a lot of respect from the other Division 1A teams through our performances," said Bohane afterwards. "Were we unlucky to be in the play-offs? Yeah. We found ourselves here and we have proven that we deserve to be in 1A. We're good enough."
