THIS season's Ulster Bank League Division 1A final will be held at the Aviva Stadium.
The return of the play-offs after a two-year gap is one of the changes made to the structure of the league which was launched yesterday ahead of Friday's kick-off when UCD host St Mary's, with champions Clontarf facing Young Munster on Saturday.
The top four clubs at the end of the regular season will play off for a place in the final next April.
The league's structure is set to change again at the end of this season, with the introduction of five divisions of 10 teams with a Division 2C being added.
Division 1A will be unaffected, but the second tier will see its bottom two teams relegated at the end of the season and the league placings will decide the make-up of the new divisions.
