O’Connell’s return confirmed after he is named in Munster ‘A' side
PAUL O’Connel has been named in the Munster ‘A’ starting XV for tomorrow’s Interprovincial clash with Leinster at the UL Bowl as expected.
The giant Irish lock has only played two games for Munster this season because of a debilitating injury to his lower back which has kept him out of action.
His return from injury has rekindled hopes that he may be picked in Warren Gatland’s for the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia in the summer.
O’Connell has been plagued with injury over the last year with a knee injury forcing him out of Ireland’s tour to New Zealand last summer and then he was hit by a bulging disc in his back which he has been trying to remedy ever since.
Niall Ronan, out of Munster action with injury since late November and Luke O'Dea whose last Munster game at senior level was just before Christmas also return for the clash.
