Ireland prop Mike Ross has agreed a new contract with the Irish Rugby Football Union that will keep him at Leinster until 2013.

The 31-year-old former Harlequins tighthead was a revelation during his debut RBS 6 Nations, during which he lifted his total of caps to seven.

Ross ended the championship by making the telling contribution in the demolition of England's scrum during the 24-8 upset at Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

The set piece has long been an area of Irish weakness until Ross' promotion to the front row last month.

"It's been an enjoyable couple of months and I'm delighted to be able to have my new contract agreed and to remain playing for Leinster" said Ross.

"Since coming back to Ireland, Leinster really has become my home.

"Hopefully I can continue to maintain my performance levels to help keep the team successful and also keep me in the frame for selection for the Ireland team."
