Year to remember marked at IRFU's awards night

After a season to remember for Munster clubs in the All-Ireland League, their standout achievements were marked at the IRFU's recent awards night, which took place in the Aviva Stadium.

After topping the league and ending the season as All-Ireland Cup winners, UL Bohemians women's team were honoured with the Coach of the Year award for Ben Martin, the Rising Star Award for Enya Breen and Top Points Scorer for Niamh Briggs.

In the men's game UCC earned the Rising Star Award for the top flight, with James Taylor honoured for his excellent 150-point season.

There was further recognition for a Cork club in the Division 2A awards, where Dave O'Connell from Highfield was given the Rising Star Award for his role in their title-winning season.

And Limerick rugby was also honoured when Shannon RFC's Katie McCloskey was named PRO of the Year.
