There will be no club action this weekend as crunch Heineken Cup ties are given priority.

However, last weekend the play in Division 2A and 2B meant aficionados of the local game had plenty to be excited about.

UCC kept pace with the leaders in Division 2A with a hard-fought win over Cashel at the Mardyke. Their 28-10 win sees them trail table-toppers Galwegians by nine points back in sixth place.

Galwegians took little pity on win-less Bruff, and registered a 48-20 win at Kilballyowen Park, while Highfield won 13-12 at Old Crescent -- just their second victory of the season.

In Division 2B, Nenagh Ormond continue to impress and a 24-20 win in Sligo kept them in top spot.

However, Limerick's Thomond slipped down to third as their promotion chase took a blow with a 13-5 defeat at Skerries.

Sunday's Well leapfrogged DLSP in the standings thanks to their 23-13 win at Musgrave Park, while Richmond continue to improve after a 22-16 triumph against Ards.

However, Midleton's form has fallen off somewhat, and their latest defeat -- a 12-0 loss at the hands of Tullamore -- leaves them sitting precariously positioned fourth from bottom.
