Schools team up for top charity tag blitz
Transition year students from St Joseph's Presentation Convent and St Pat's Boys Secondary School recently ran a charity tag rugby blitz at Castleisland RFC for 120 second and fifth-year pupils attending their schools.
The students co-ordinated the full event themselves and were assisted by Munster Rugby coaching officer Ray Gadsden. It proved to be highly successful on the day.
Duties included pitch set-up, team fixtures and organising referees as well as arranging various fun activities for teams who were waiting to play.
Munster Rugby donated a signed poster and match tickets on the day, with proceeds going to the Pieta House mental health charity.
