Ryan Stoves stoke up interest with shirt sell

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Munster Rugby has not secured a brand new main sponsor!

Instead of the usual Bank of Ireland logo on Munster's jersey, this weekend for the visit of Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup, Tipperary firm Ryan Stoves will be proudly worn on the famous red jersey.

Ryan Stoves, a Nenagh-based operation, were the lucky winners of Bank of Ireland's 'Sponsor for a Day' competition, which afforded the winning company the chance to see their name on the Munster shirt on a big match day at Thomond Park.

The competition was open to any small business and offered a unique opportunity for international exposure, with Sunday's game scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports to millions of possible viewers.

Hundreds of entrants were mulled over by the judging panel, and more than 13,000 votes were cast by the public, leaving Ryan Stoves as the lucky competition winner.

As well as seeing their name on the Munster shirt for Sunday's key Heineken Cup clash, Ryan Stoves have also been awarded with pitch-side signage as well as an advert in the match programme.

A number of tickets remain on sale for Sunday's clash, which could be Munster's last home game in this year's Heineken Cup.
