Relegation battle heats up for Munster clubs in AIL

UCC, Young Munster and Shannon are all in relegation trouble in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League heading into next weekend's penultimate round.

Terenure College are bottom of the standings on 27 points, but just one point behind Shannon, while Young Munster and UCC are on 29 and 31 points respectively.

Garryowen's chances of reaching the play-offs at the right end of the table suffered a massive blow last weekend when they fell to a 29-12 defeat at home to Clontarf, while Cork Con are still top.

Highfield are the Division 2A champions with two rounds of rugby remaining.

Cashel are second with UL Bohemians in fifth and eight-placed Nenagh Ormond separated by 15 points. Old Crescent and Dolphin are in between.

Sunday's Well are rock bottom in Division 2B. In 2C, Midleton and Bruff are second and third respectively, Thomond prop up the division.
