Niall Ronan's injuries stopped him getting deserved recognition
I was very disappointed last week to hear that Niall Ronan had to call it a day because of injury.
We had soldiered together for many years and he made a great contribution to Munster.
He is one of the most skilful back-row players I have met, he could easily have been a back.
I remember one try against Clermont Auvergne when he chipped over the top and raced through, collected and scored a great try. It was something else.
But, of course, in the back-row you are right there in the danger zone and Niall had to recover from more than his share of injuries over the years which probably hindered him from getting the recognition he deserved.
