Munster Rugby supporters have given the province's new Adidas European kit the thumbs up since its release in the past week.

The new Adidas red hooped kit will be worn by the province in this season's European Rugby Champions Cup competition, along with red shorts and hooped red socks.

A survey on the Irish Independent website saw the majority of Munster supporters give the new strip the thumbs up, which went on sale on Thursday last.

This is the first occasion that Munster have released a special European kit which is emblazoned by two stars as well as the traditional Munster crest to represent the province's dual Heineken Cup successes of 2006 and 2008.

The attractive strip will be put to the test for the first time when Anthony Foley's side open their inaugural European Champions Cup campaign away to Sale Sharks on October 18, before it is rolled out at Thomond Park for the clash with Saracens a week later.

As well as the traditional shirt, shots and socks combo, the new European kit also features a new presentation tracksuit, which the squad will wear on match day.

In recognising the contribution of the Thomond Park 16th man to the European successes of Munster over the years, supporters were invited to submit their names and locations for an online competition on the Life Style Sports website, with winners being included in the European kit advertising campaign.

The kit is available exclusively from Life Style Sports shops nationwide as well as the Life Style Sports website at with the opening game against Sale Sharks now just three weeks away.
