Munster confirm signing of Scarlets second row Tadhg Beirne on two-year deal
Munster have confirmed the signing of Scarlets second row Tadhg Beirne on a two-year contract.
As reported in today's Irish Independent, Beirne will join up with Munster at the end of this season. The former Leinster lock was released by the province in the summer of 2016, subsequently joining Scarlets.
Beirne enjoyed a breakout season with the Welsh region, playing a key part in their PRO 12-winning campaign. Beirne's eye-catching displays - especially in the final demolition of Munster at the Aviva Stadium - generated plenty of interest back in Ireland and the second row will hope to force his way into Joe Schmidt's squad ahead of the 2019 World Cup.
Before leaving Ireland, Beirne won the AIL with Lansdowne in 2013 and has previously played for Ireland U20.
