Munster's Chris Cloete is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a fractured forearm.

Cloete suffered the injury in Munster's Pro14 win over Glasgow on Friday night and is expected to be out of action for three to four months.

There is better news for Tommy O'Donnell as he returned to Munster training following an AC joint injury and he is available for selection against Edinburgh in Murrayfield on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Niall Scannell is "being assessed by the medical team" after he took a knock to the ribs against Glasgow.
