Historic floodlit CBC-PBC clash boosts charity
Christian Brothers College's senior side will host their Presentation Brothers College counterparts in the Brother O'Reilly Cup tonight at 7.15 in Lansdowne, Cork.
This will be the first match under lights for the Sidney Hill side, who recently opened their new stand. All proceeds from the occasion will be donated to L'Arche Cork.
Both sides are preparing for their Munster Schools Senior Cup campaigns starting in February.
Speaking ahead of the event, CBC principal Dr Laurence A Jordan said: "The Charity Cup game is a long-standing tradition between the two great rugby playing schools in Cork.
"We are very proud of the development works carried out at our home grounds in Lansdowne and we invite all CBC and PBC past and present pupils, and indeed the entire Cork rugby community, to attend the match.
"CBC has a long-standing tradition of supporting charitable causes in Cork and the Brother O'Reilly Cup match follows in that tradition, with the entire gate receipts donated directly to L'Arche Cork.
"I would like to take this opportunity to wish both sides an enjoyable rugby season ahead."
Gate entry: Adults €5, school pupils and OAPs €3; tickets are available to purchase on the night
