Hard to beat feeling when you're on a roll
Sometimes in sport you get on a run, you starting winning on regular basis you start to feel like your stars have aligned and success is around the corner.
I've a feeling that this Munster squad is beginning to buy into that - I talked last week about their similarities with England. They just seem invincible right now, and they're on another level.
I remember the first time I really believed silverware was part of my destiny as a Munster rugby player. And it was even before our European Cup final against Biarritz in 2006. It was May 20 when we entered the Millennium Stadium, looking for our first win in three attempts at a European decider but this one felt that bit different, and I had known that for a while. After seeing the crowd and everything, we weren't coming away without the win.
But it hit home earlier in the season during the pool stages. I still recall telling my wife Aileen that I had a very strong feeling this was going to be our year.
Sure we had a great squad and were playing well, but I couldn't put my finger on what else was different. All I knew is that I hadn't felt it before.
Then as the rounds went by it became more and more obvious that my gut instinct was correct and we were on our way to achieving the ultimate goal.
