It's time to dust off the golf clubs and stretch the legs because the Munster Rugby Golf Classic takes place on Thursday next, September 7, at Dundrum House Hotel Golf and Leisure Resort in the north of Co Tipperary.

Proceeds from the annual event will help fund the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp which identifies potential academy and development squad players, as well as preparing teams for the upcoming inter-provincial competitions.

Registration for the event takes place at 1pm on the day, while a shotgun start will proceed from 2pm at the spectacular Dundrum House course, which has been beautifully designed by 1995 Ryder Cup hero Philip Walton.

The 18-hole parkland course is woven along the banks of the Multeen river and will be a test for all level of golfers.

The competition will be run off using the Stableford scoring system, while a team of three is priced at €300 per team. It is expected that the event will end at approximately 8pm.

As well as the sporting action on course, there will be excellent hospitality laid on.

A pre-dinner drinks reception - sponsored by Diageo - will be followed by dinner of starter, choice of main course with dessert and tea or coffee. Prizes, also sponsored by Diageo, will be presented at dinner.

Any golfers interested in taking in the overnight experience of Dundrum House Hotel can avail of the Bed and full Irish Breakfast rate of €49 per person sharing and €65 single occupancy. This can be booked directly with the hotel on 062-71116.

Anyone interested in Thursday's activities is asked to contact Anthony Morrissey, Munster Rugby's Business Development Manager, on 087-6202530 or via email at anthonymorrissey@munsterrugby.ie.
