Killarney RFC are making every effort to grow and promote the girls' game in Kerry.

The club started out with two girls playing over two years ago and now have 22 girls playing rugby.

They held their first girls-only match in Killarney at U-10 level last month and most recently attended their first girls-only blitz at Tralee RFC along with U-11, U-12 and U-13s from Tralee, Listowel, Killorglin and Abbeyfeale.

They have a dedicated female liaison officer in the club (Denise Treacy) for the first time, and are focused on promoting rugby in Killarney and beyond.
