Excitement builds as club season gets under way

Young Munster begin life under new coach Anthony Mathison with a rematch of last year's Ulster Bank League semi-final against Lansdowne at Aviva Stadium tomorrow (2.30).

The Cookies were the surprise package last season when they finished fourth in the table.

The opening weekend also features the Division 1A clash of Cork Constitution away to promoted Galwegians at Crowley Park.

Garryowen start out with a game against Ballynahinch at Dooradoyle.

In Division 1B, Dolphin begin life in the second tier with a match at St Mary's - who were also relegated from the top flight last season at Templeville Road.

Shannon, who failed to impress in 1B last term, will take on Buccaneers at Dubarry Park, while UL Bohemians host promoted Old Wesley.

In Division 2A, Thomond host Cashel at Liam Fitzgerald Park.

In the division below, Highfield travel to take on Bective Rangers at Donnybrook. Elsewhere Sunday's Well host Greystones at Irish Independent Park.

In the newly-formed Division 2C, Midleton travel to Shamrock Lodge where they play Boyne. Bruff are also on the road against Dundalk at Mill Road.

At Knocknacolan, Kanturk take on Wanderers, while Old Crescent make the journey to play Tullamore at Spollenstown.
