Con targeting back-to-back wins

Reigning champions Cork Con will be looking for back-to-back victories at the start of the Ulster Bank League Division 1A season with victory away to Terenure College tomorrow.

Cork Con got off to the perfect start when they beat Clontarf 30-18 in a repeat of last season's final at Temple Hill. Cork Con are third coming into this weekend with Garryowen in sixth ahead of their clash with Buccaneers at Dooradoyle - they lost 13-7 at St Mary's College.

Young Munster had a poor start to their season and were thumped 39-20 by UCD. The Limerick outfit are away to Lansdowne at Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

In Division 1B, Shannon got off to a winning start at the expense of UCC, and Shannon welcome Old Belvedere to Thomond Park this time around. Shannon are fourth in the standings while UCC are seventh having picked up a losing bonus point in that 20-16 defeat.

UCC are away to Banbridge at Rifle Park this weekend. UL Bohemians travel to take on Naas at Forenaughts after an opening-round defeat to Banbridge. Dolphin are on the road against Ballymena.

In Division 2A, Highfield will look to continue their brilliant start to the season with a win away to Malone in Gibson Park. Highfield hammered Blackrock 35-19 at Woodleigh Park.

Cashel are away against Blackrock in Stradbrook in Round 2, while Nenagh Ormond face Queen's University at Dub Lane.

In Division 2B, Old Crescent are at home against MU Barnhall in Rosbrien. Sunday's Well are at home against Dungannon.

In the bottom tier, Midleton are away to Omagh, Thomond are away to Tullamore and Bruff go to Bective Rangers.
