Blow for Ireland and Munster as Keith Earls is ruled out for four months
Munster and Ireland star Keith Earls will be out of action for up to four months as he undergoes knee surgery this Thursday.
Earls has been struggling with an ongoing knee problem he picked up on international duty in August but Munster boss Anthony Foley had been hopeful he would not need surgery.
"Keith's is a knee problem. I think he is going to one of the leading consultants on that so hopefully we will get good news,” said Foley before last week’s home defeat to the Ospreys.
“We will be looking at him for next week and having him back in training. He would have trained fully here with us this week, but last week in Cork he took the same knock he took in the knee and he just can't take the pain through it."
