Bantry girls help create a club milestone

Bantry Bay RFC created a club milestone on Saturday last following a 'Try A Session' event for girls aged 12-15 at the club grounds.

Ladies rugby is an area of huge development in West Cork and in recent years girls involved in schools rugby have expressed an interest in getting involved at club level.

There was a fantastic turnout on the day as the young girls were introduced to some of the basic skills and fun elements of the game.

This initiative is being headed by Club Community Rugby Officer Eugene McCarthy and Mini-Coaching Officer Damien Hicks.

If anyone is interested in joining the girls rugby section at Bantry Bay RFC please contact the club by email at: or telephone Denyse Scully (Club Hon Secretary) at 086-3819330.
